Being born into a Christian family my siblings and I grew as “church boys”. I also attended many prayer meetings and evangelized to a lot of people during evangelistic outreaches mainly because of my parents' active participation in church activities.
The scriptures, I should say, were at my finger tips because morning devotion was a norm in my house. I was very active in church. In the aspects of singing and Bible quizzes I was second to none as those were my specialties. Everyone saw me as that wonderful Christian child but there was an aspect of me which no one knew. Sexual lust and some sort of self-gratification was all I considered as SUCCESS.
No beautiful young girl escaped the pupil of my eye. My singing in church was not meant to draw people to Christ but for them to know and admire my melodious voice. All these I did to gain fame.
This hypocritical life of mine continued until one day in Senior High School, it came to an end. It was during an evening church service, and that I sincerely gave my life to Christ Jesus and gave up all the things I desired so much. Peace filled my heart. From that day onwardsecondary school, the end of the bottle turned to me. During an evening church service, I sincerely gave my life to Christ Jesus and I gave up all the things I desired so much unto him. Peace filled my heart; from that day onwards I studied the Bible and not read it. I began to understand known scriptures in a different way as if I had a tutor within me. There, I realized it was the Holy Spirit.to Christ Jesus and gave up all the things I desired so much. Peace filled my heart. From that day onwards I studied the Bible instead of just reading it. I began to understand known scriptures in a different way as if I had a tutor within me. There, I realized it was the Holy Spirit.
Sincerely, it hasn't been easy for me at all, but the peace and joy that I have found has been my strength and seen me through all struggles.
I know most of you out there are battling with some habits which seem like they can never be done away with. I am here to tell you that there is indeed a Saviour, Jesus Christ, who can give you eternal Peace and Joy. He can free you from whatever sinful bondage you are in. Just pray fervently until His name and blood sets you free; and even after that, keep praying for his wonderful nature to be established in you.
The Lord Jesus saved me, and can save you too. Christ is Freedom.
